Conference Banquet and Social Events
The conference will open with a welcome reception, to which all delegates are invited free of charge.
The conference banquet will take place on Wednesday August 22nd in the Gürzenich, the traditional ballroom and reception hall of the City Council. This dates from 1444, and has been recenty restored to become a stylish center for conferences and special events. The banquet has been generously supported by one of the conference sponsors, allowing the cost to be reduced to only 20€, including food and some drink. We hope that this low cost will enable all delegates to attend and enjoy what should be a great evening.
Assisted Place Registration
Most of the conference sponsorship has been used to keep registration fees for all delegates to a minimum. However, a limited amount of funds have been reserved to help support students and young scientists. Priority will be given to students and young scientists from economically developing countries listed in AGU's list of countries of low-income economies, and will be allocated on the basis of the quality of the submitted abstract. Delegates wishing to apply for these funds should do so when submitting their abstract, completing the support section of the abstract submission form.
Letters of Invitation
Letters of invitation can be obtained for delegates who have completed their registration and payment for Goldschmidt 2007. Any delegate who thinks they may require an official letter of invitation from the conference to aid the acquiring of travel visas should email the
conference helpdesk in Cologne, giving details of their name and the institution at which they work, a postal address and fax number to which the letter of invitation can be sent, and the registration number for the conference.
